People who have experienced severe acne outbreaks are well aware of the blemishes it can leave behind. Some blemishes may be more severe than others, but for many people who want to look great, even the smallest of blemish can seem to be huge. Finding a good acne blemish treatment can be challenging as there are many products and promises on the market these days. With a little research, you should be able to find products that can help reduce the discoloration of your acne blemishes.

For those who use cosmetic product to cover the discolored area of their blemishes, should be aware that make-up or cosmetic products can actually make the problem worse. Acne is caused by the body’s natural oil clogging the pores from the inside and allowing bacteria to grow under the skin. Many cosmetic products also contain oil to help moisturize the skin, but the oils in these products can add to the oily skin problem and cause more acne. Additionally, cosmetics don’t actually treat the blemish, it simply hides the problem.

There are also products that bleach the skin, helping to reduce the visibility of the darkened skin caused by acne, these products tend to dry out the skin, so instead of having small patches of darker colored skin, they can actually cause larger patches of lighter colored skin. Please understand that everyone’s skin is different, not everyone can use the same acne blemish treatment product to bring back the normal skin color.

Preventing Acne Blemish Is The Best Treatment

When acne strikes, there is a possibility that it could result in blemish. While the whitehead, blackhead or pimple is an unwanted guest, squeezing it or scraping it could increase the possibility of resulting in blemish. When a person suffers from an outbreak of acne, blemish treatment should begin immediately. Placing an ice cube wrapped in a cloth on the spot for two or three minutes can slow the growth of bacteria under the skin. If a pimple does open, use a few drops of lemon oil on a cotton ball to help kill the bacteria in the follicle.

Keep in mind that there is no product that can remove the blemish immediately. Once you’ve chosen a product that suits your skin, use the entire amount according to the directions given before switching to a different brand. It will take some time for any acne blemish treatment to work so it should be given the opportunity to do its job.
