Living an acne-free life is not as hard as you think; it all boils down to living a healthy lifestyle and follow a simple skin care regimen daily and religiously.

Attaining an acne-free life in the busy lifestyle and hectic environment we’re living in these days may sound like a dream, but with some basic skin care knowledge and discipline to live a healthy lifestyle, it’s not impossible to turn that dream into a reality.

If you want to have an acne-free life, cleansing is the most basic step you need to take daily and religiously. It removes oils, dirts and bacteria from the surface of skin. Only use oil free, chemical-free and non-comedogenic cleansers that can hydrate and clean your skin thoroughly. Wash your face gently with your middle and ring fingers in a circular motion at least twice a day; slowly and gently move around to every parts of your face. This will help wash off oils and bacteria and prevent acne and blemishes from being formed in the first place.

2. Tone Your Skin

Skin toning is an important step after cleansing. It helps to close and refine skin pores; hence make them less susceptible to clogging. Toning also prepares your skin for moisturizing; making it more absorbent. If you have sensitive skin, use alcohol-free toner.

3. Moisturize Your Skin

Our skin need to be hydrated; a moisturizer will help add moisture and keep water from escaping from our skin. It also helps prevent wrinkles. Use an oil-free moisturizer that suits your skin type. The skin care market is flooded with good moisturizers that can cater for every possible skin type; seek advice from a dermatologist if you’re not sure what moisturizer suits your skin type.

A healthy lifestyle coupled with the three basic skin care routines discussed above will greatly help you to attain an acne-free life. For further protection and maintenance of your skin, make sure you always use sunblock when you’re going out and exposed under the sun. Your skin is more likely to develop wrinkles if you’re regularly exposed under the sun without using sunblock.
